Amerika: The Police State Is Here

I woke up this morning and did what most of us do after taking care of natures business,I checked Facebook. Wouldn't you know that on a peaceful Saturday morning, someone had posted a picture of a badge and a plea to " appreciate our police ". I had to double check the source but then it hit me. The source of this material was born and raised in a time when corruption in the PD was there but it was usually higher up the chain and didnt really get in the face of your average joe.

My how things have changed. We now live in an era where the Chief of Police in Anytown, USA, isnt the perpetrator, his officers are. I have spent the morning perusing many different reports from all over the nation and I came away appalled at the state of policing in our nation. There are thousands upon thousands upon thousands of reports of police brutality submitted every year.Approximately 99 percent of these police end up back on the beat with only a lighter wallet to show for their "punishment". The complaints range from severe beatings to handcuffed suspects all the way up to killing of unarmed and prone suspects and everything imaginable in between. It is terrifying to think that with the increasing militarization of ALL police agencies, from the big federal agencies to the small town cops who get a grant for surplus military vehicles and weaponry that they would likely NEVER need, we could be sitting in our living room and a SWAT team acting on bad info or just wanting to use their new toys, could burst into a citizens living room and do what they want and be exonerated because they are cops.

It isnt just traditional police agencies that are arming themselves with enough ammo for 2 more world wars,it is also government agencies that have zero business having any weapons at all. Recently, the Department of Agriculture purchassed several thousand submachine guns with 30 round clips and millions of rounds of ammunition. WTF for??!! What do they need ANY weapons for at all? This truly boggles my mind.

The Department of Homeland Security has MRAPs from Afghanistan and Iraq. Why?? They have heavy assault weaponry that traditionally been reserved for the military. The recently purchased over a BILLION rounds of ammo.FML,why do they need this stuff?? The list goes on but I believe you get the idea.

We live in a time where our 2nd Amendment rights are increasingly under fire while at the same time, all across the board, police agencies of every size and description are being armed against us and indemnified against genuine punishment for their offenses against you and I. Our 4th Amendment rights are getting trampled on by these "public servants". In several recent cases, courts are giving the police carte blanche to search your car, home and person,WITHOUT A WARRANT!!

I know what the remedy is but we have ceased to be a nation that can do it. Remember the civil rights marches and the 60s anti war protest marches? We are not those type of people. We will just sit down, carp and criticize. We will say that we WISH we could protest this but shucks, we have meetings and school functions and sporting events to deal with.

I used to be proud to be an American.I am still very patriotic but my pride in my nation is at an all time low. Look around folks. Open your eyes. See the nation for what it is becoming. We are no longer the land of the free. We cannot justly lay claim to the title of the Lampstand of Freedom.

When the first local police department gets an M1 tank, I will begin looking at becoming a Canadian citizen.

Amerika, the police state is here.
