I woke up this morning and did what most of us do after taking care of natures business,I checked Facebook. Wouldn't you know that on a peaceful Saturday morning, someone had posted a picture of a badge and a plea to " appreciate our police ". I had to double check the source but then it hit me. The source of this material was born and raised in a time when corruption in the PD was there but it was usually higher up the chain and didnt really get in the face of your average joe.
My how things have changed. We now live in an era where the Chief of Police in Anytown, USA, isnt the perpetrator, his officers are. I have spent the morning perusing many different reports from all over the nation and I came away appalled at the state of policing in our nation. There are thousands upon thousands upon thousands of reports of police brutality submitted every year.Approximately 99 percent of these police end up back on the beat with only a lighter wallet to show for their "punishment". The complaints range from severe beatings to handcuffed suspects all the way up to killing of unarmed and prone suspects and everything imaginable in between. It is terrifying to think that with the increasing militarization of ALL police agencies, from the big federal agencies to the small town cops who get a grant for surplus military vehicles and weaponry that they would likely NEVER need, we could be sitting in our living room and a SWAT team acting on bad info or just wanting to use their new toys, could burst into a citizens living room and do what they want and be exonerated because they are cops.
It isnt just traditional police agencies that are arming themselves with enough ammo for 2 more world wars,it is also government agencies that have zero business having any weapons at all. Recently, the Department of Agriculture purchassed several thousand submachine guns with 30 round clips and millions of rounds of ammunition. WTF for??!! What do they need ANY weapons for at all? This truly boggles my mind.
The Department of Homeland Security has MRAPs from Afghanistan and Iraq. Why?? They have heavy assault weaponry that traditionally been reserved for the military.The recently purchased over a BILLION rounds of ammo.FML,why do they need this stuff?? The list goes on but I believe you get the idea.
We live in a time where our 2nd Amendment rights are increasingly under fire while at the same time,all across the board, police agencies of every size and description are being armed against us and indemnified against genuine punishment for their offenses against you and I. Our 4th Amendment rights are getting trampled on by these "public servants". In several recent cases, courts are giving the police carte blanche to search your car,home and person,WITHOUT A WARRANT!!
I know what the remedy is but we have ceased to be a nation that can do it. Remember the civil rights marches and the 60s anti war protest marches? We are not those type of people. We will just sit down,carp and criticize. We will say that we WISH we could protest this but shucks, we have meetings and school functions and sporting events to deal with.
I used to be proud to be an American.I am still very patriotic but my pride in my nation is at an all time low. Look around folks. Open your eyes. See the nation for what it is becoming. We are no longer the land of the free. We cannot justly lay claim to the title of the Lampstand of Freedom.
When the first local police department gets an M1 tank, I will begin looking at becoming a Canadian citizen.

Its Your Constitution...Make Sure It Stays That Way
Welcome again, voracious readers and defenders of the truth! Lately we have seen our rights and freedoms, under attack by the Obama administration. Day in and day out, we hear of the Empty Chair (Obama) stating about how he will use his pen and phone to circumvent the Congress. The fact that other presidents have done the same thing and at a more advanced rate, is immaterial here. We are looking at intent and the effect it has on your freedoms inspired by God and guaranteed in writing by the founders of our nation.We have to be careful when we look at this issue and at our freedoms. Yes they are under attack but are they truly under as viscious an assault as claimed? We MUST separate the wheat from the chaff in order to more effectively protect both the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Snopes. com has listed that Obama has written more than 900 executive orders and while I vehemently disagree with everything the man has done,my research indicates that he has done far less and that the true number while less, will contain far worse results. The true number is 181 and we will delve into these over the next few weeks but this is just an example of how both sides of the political aisle can go a little nuts.
What I want to bring to your attention today is the Constitution of the United States of America and the Bill of Rights. These documents are at the very center of all of our lives as citizens of this nation. What we say,what we do, when and how we do it are all done under what we perceive our freedoms to be under these remarkable instruments.The question I have been confronted with ( brought to my attention by a person close to me )is,do I really know my rights? Are they all spelled out in the Bill of Rights(BOR for the rest of this post) or are they also in the Constitution? Where do my rights begin and end? What about the duties of the government to protect and preserve those rights?

The BOR is actually the first ten amendments to the Constitution. The remaining amendments are not part of the BOR but they are just as important albeit less well known. Lets look at an amendment that by its very wording seems to indicate the first time Congress truly acted against the wishes of the populace.
AMENDMENT XVI
Passed by Congress July 2, 1909. Ratified February 3, 1913.
Note: Article I, section 9, of the Constitution was modified by amendment 16.
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
Income tax. How we have been beaten pillar to post by this one. There are few other laws made that generate so much hostility towards the government. Prior to this amendment, you kept what you earned. Period. The government used tarriffs on international commerce and excise taxes on liquor,tobacco and other items. Several senators were opposed to this amendment since they saw it not just as a way to raise money from the populace but to also control us by forcing the citizens to not only pay the tax but justify their earnings to the new IRS. They also felt that this was a backdoor way to grow the government and increase our dependence upon it.
Time has proven these senators to be correct. Look at what we are dealing with now. The IRS targeting of conservative groups and the length of time the Head of the IRS was able to ignore the federal investigation. None of this whole ball of wax happens if we do not have the IRS. We have advanced in many ways as a nation due to the taxes collected on income but this is an amendment that should have been debated by and voted on by, the people of this nation. If We The People controlled the purse strings,we would not have the MULTITRILLION dollar debt that our great great grand children are saddled with. The sad thing is that we have no redress to get rid of this abomination.We have many so called " entitlement " programs. To name just a few, we have: SNAP,TANF,Social Security,Medicaid/Care,and guaranteed subsidies to megacorporations that do not need it, also called corporate welfare. If we were to suddenly stop these programs by way of electing congress critters and senators who would vote to abolish the income tax, we would create an instant 2nd or 3rd world nation out of the US of A. This is the predicament that lax attention to the Constitution and its many amendments has gotten us to.
How do we get out of this debacle while ensuring our rights under the very special documents of this nation? The following is my OPINION but I believe that it is a very valid and widely held view. We must NOT give up on the electoral process. We must not let the situation degenerate into violence unless all other forms of redress have been exhausted.We must find a way to get rid of political parties and elect people on their merit not the mud they can sling with the aid of big parties. I sometimes wonder how many other Washingtons,Jacksons,Lincolns or Kennedys, have been missed because their party was small and under funded, especially compared to the parties of the wealthy and well connected. Public service is supposed to be a privilege not a career but that is what we have now. We have a situation where a Senator Richard Luger from Indiana has been in Washington for so long that he no longer maintains a home in his district he "represents". The politicians are beholden to the corporations and special interest groups and this was never meant to be. The Founders envisioned a government where citizens would serve for a time then go back to their civilian careers as lawyers,doctors,farmers and sailors.
How does all this play into the income tax amendment? With this amendment,the government was able to begin paying exorbiant salaries to the representatives that were elected.Once there, the special interests have made it too easy for the peoples representatives to stay there and collect that salary and vote themselves raises even during periods of recession.
We must get back to a fundamental form of government. We have to throw off the blinders that trhe Republicrats and Demicans have put on us. I urge, no, i implore all of you to find candidates who are not affiliated with these parties. Find men and women of good character who have a true,patriotic devotion to the people of this nation. People who will vote to slowly overturn the income tax,tighten the purse strings and begin to require that the government become accountable to the people again, not the other way around. Vote local people with real jobs into positions in the government and require, with term limits, that no person shall make a career out of bending the words of the Constitution into a way to make a profit.
As the weeks go by I will be posting each article and subsection of the Constitution. I will be welcoming of all polite and well reasoned debate on each and every one. Feel free to post links in the comments in order to prove /disprove a point. All I ask is that decorum be maintained. I know that this nation was not founded upon polite debate but we can strive to be nice while disagreeing.

Your Children Are Not Yours.
I was going to write about Benghazi tonight but then I read something so disturbing that I shelved the carefully prepared post in favor of shooting from the hip,so to speak.
Your children are not yours. This is a fact that is being rammed home in so many different ways. From childrens "advocates" getting involved in your family for the most trivial of reasons. If you discipline you child and the method is not what a given social worker likes on a bad day, you could lose your kid. Should the advocate have a problem with your childs vocabulary,you could lose your kids.Speak up at a meeting about something scholastic you disagree with? You could be arrested.
Tonight I read about a man in New Hampshire. He has a daughter in ninth grade. The fact that she is being taught common core is bad enough but it is what she was assigned to read that pushe d this father over the edge...at least according to Gilford, New Hampshire officials.
William Baer and his wife were shocked when their daughter came home from school with a book "Nineteen Minutes" which is purported to be about a school shooting and the lessons learned because of it. That subject is a delicate enough subject but what enraged Mr. Baer was found on page 313. After he read the page, he went to the school board meeting to question them about this book and when he spoke his opinion that this book was inappropriate and absurd, he was told he was being disrespectful of others.He countered with his view that this book being part of the required curriculum was disrespectful to his child.The school panel did not like this and promptly had him escorted out and arrested for disorderly conduct.
Folks, the alarm bells are ringing from every corner of our land.Every day we lose just a little more liberty.Scratch that,we dont lose it,it is stolen. Stolen by an increasingly liberal federal government that wants to take all of your rights away and make every person dependent upon them for sustenance.They want to control what you think,say or do. They want to make sure your kids are not yours,that you are just a glorified babysitter for the States' offspring.We are rapidly becoming powerless in our own homes. Want to own a gun? Only if the Fed LETS you.Raise your kids? Better do it the way the Fed wants you to.Urge to be a homeowner? Be ready for the government and their JBTs to beat your door in with warrantless searches. Want a car? Register that bad boy, year after year after year just to prove that even though you havent sold it, it is still yours.Add what I call the High Secrets of government,the Benghazis and Fast and Furious type of activity that goes on in OUR name,without our consent and the increasingly worthless election system in this country and what you have is a huge ball of problems that are heinous by themselves and together, rob us of our God given rights as parents and citizes.
America,the time for talk is past.The time for action is now.What form of action is up to you.Will you continue to sit by and let your liberties be stolen just because you dont want to experience the discomfort that a revolution would bring you?Might miss "Game of Thrones" or a childs softball game. Maybe we are just soft pushovers who are only good at complaining.At least most of us.When will enough be enough,America? Put down your Iphones, Ipods and Ipads and pick up a rifle. The time is fast approaching when the Tree of Liberty will be well watered with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The American Revolution was fought by only 3 percent of the population.3 percent who decided enough was enough.The lines were patriots on one side and Loyalist Tories on the other with the other 97 percent broken up in many different camps of thought. This time,there wont be that luxury. Will you be on the side of liberty or tyranny?

Separation of Church and State. Meant to be or myth?
Sunday morning. As I wake up and give my thanks for my family and a renewed faith that my efforts will bear fruit, I think of many things. I think of our soldiers fighting in undeclared wars around the globe while those whose job it is to look after their eternal souls are under a different kind of fire. I think of a southern preacher telling his congregation whose membership has been ravaged by the recent storms that they must keep the faith, for surely God will move the hearts of our leaders to compassion and mercy. I think of a homeless family,huddled together in a church that will be their home for the next week, while they wait for some help from the government.
What is the connection? Why does the connection lay so heavily on my soul, that I must put my words down for others to judge?
Readers, we are at a crisis point in our nation. We are confronted,day after day, with the work of the Enemy on two fronts. Satan attacks our nation through the lewdness and immorality that absolutely pervades " pop culture". Men marrying men and women marrying women,IN OUR CHURCHES!!!! He attacks us with our own government by empowering them through greed and deceit, to allow marriage for homosexuals and consequating those religious personages who choose not to marry these immoral people.
A while back, I read a story about a bakery in a Colorado town.This bakery specialized in Christian celebrations of many sorts and was the go to baker for most churches in his area. The owner had been approached by a gay couple who requested that he bake them a wedding cake. The baker refused, pointing out the nature of his bakery and gave friendly suggestions to go to other bakers who may be more suited to their needs. What did these two folks do? They sued the baker, claiming that they were discriminated against. The gay couple wn the case.There are similar cases in Oregon and New Mexico, where Christianity is under fire.
We can look at the lack of prayer in schools,the absence of the Ten Commandments from government halls and the venom that the government shows when attacking Christians and we can become overwhelmed by the though that this isnt going well for us.Today,I am going to tell you a harsh truth,show you where we were meant to be, and hopefully provide a compass heading for anyone whose moral compass is off by a bit.
The Truth: This is all on us. Our fault.No one elses. Just ours.We have watched for generation after generation as a slew of oily,disgusting,religion hating people have gradually worked their way into the halls of our state and federal capitols. At first we fought at the ballot box but over time, we have become weary of the fight.Voter turnout for conservative Christians is at an all time ebb. Obama was able to capitalize on this apathy and win 2 elections.With his election we have seen a steady erosion of both secular and religious rights.The Supreme Court which should be a bulwark against such rampant abuses,has let us down time and again. Instead of interpreting the Constitution as it was meant to be and measuring new legislation against that, they have decided to look at Obamas time in office as a time to follow the prevailing politics and thus we have lost many liberties.
For one to see,to truly understand that this nation was founded as a religious nation,we need only look at some of the very first legislation that was voted on and approved by the Congress.The Northwest Ordinance (passed by the same Congress that drafted and passed the First Amendment), the first federal law governing the western territories, provided that “Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.” Additionally, we could look to George Washington's farewell address,this is a direct quote "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism who should labour to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity."

For one to see,to truly understand that this nation was founded as a religious nation,we need only look at some of the very first legislation that was voted on and approved by the Congress.The Northwest Ordinance (passed by the same Congress that drafted and passed the First Amendment), the first federal law governing the western territories, provided that “Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.” Additionally, we could look to George Washington's farewell address,this is a direct quote "Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism who should labour to subvert these great Pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and citizens. The mere Politician, equally with the pious man ought to respect and to cherish them. A volume could not trace all their connections with private and public felicity."

I think that says it all folks.Have a good Sunday. Pray hard for our nation. Pray for our troops,that our leaders will stop the insanity of undeclared, unconstitutional wars and bring them home. Most of all pray for our society to wake up to the danger we are currently in politically,physically and religiously. This country was definitively founded not just as a religious nation but as a Christian nation. This fact is inescapable.

NBA going too far with Sterling issue?
I woke up this morning to more news about L.A. Clippers owner Donald Sterling and it got me thinking about this situation from different angles. Let me preface this post by first saying that I find racism to be abhorrent and a useless anachronism. It is harmful to our society and we should strive to be better than that.
With that being said,my first new thought on this will likely prove very unpopular be cause it will seem like I am defending Mr.Sterling,which in a way, I am. He is a citizen of the US of A and as such, his comments,while unacceptable, are protected by the First Amendment. If NAMBLA publications can be seen as protected by the 1st Amendment by the Supreme Court, then certainly Mr. Sterling has the same protection. He was in his own home,being illegally recorded, and spoke his mind. What he said is not the central issue now. Like him, hate him or dont care,it does not matter. Due to his comments, we can see the slippery slope. If there is no clause in his ownership contract with the NBA regarding this sort of situation, then he should remain as an owner.I urge this in the strongest of terms. We cannot let ourselves go down the easy path, folks. Were the NBA to remove him from his position, it opens the door to a whole slew of issues. Think on this: A woman works hard to build a company in industry X and her clientele are mainly happily married women. She goes home and through a telephone recording,is revealed to hate men with a passion that is holy.She spends a few minutes on the worst, most vile, man hating diatribe any person has ever heard. This rant hits the news and the calls start coming to fire her, take her company away, etc. She is protected by the 1st Amendment as is Sterling. IF there is no clause in Sterling's contract, then the NBA is acting as thought and speech police. I urge full and complete disclosure to the public of Mr. Sterling's contract. If what he said doesnt fall under any prohibitions that he agreed to, the the NBA should stop its efforts and instead let the fans vote with their wallets.When the sponsors pull out and the fans dont show up, Mr. Racist will have to eat the cost of paying his players and keeping up the arena himself. If Magic, Jay Z, Oprah, Floyd or Oscar want to own an NBA team in LA, let them!!Force Mr. Strlings hand by standing up a new team in the same market. His current net worth is 1.9 billion dollars and he spends 73 million or so per year on player salaries alone. If a new team is established and the fans go to the new team, Sterling gets a financial whipping. in 10 years he will lose upwards of 700 million dollars. He will want to sell before that. Then the situation will exist for him to have zero buyers because the new team will have the fans and sponsors. When he is broke, the league can then take over the team and quietly phase it out in favor of the new team and Mr. Sterling will have been dealt with by society not by thought and speech police.
Now lets look at situations that are connected to this that could speed up this process. Mr Sterling lives in a no fault divorce state. His wife will get half. this means that the alternative to him being forced to sell the team because the NBA and society found his comments horrible, he will have to sell just to be able to pay the divorce settlement. I still like the first situation better because all he does is bleed money until he is broke while if he is allowed to sell the team, he will gain a financial life jacket. This should be avoided at all costs. He is a racist and a bigot. We the fans will deal with him and the only obligation I see the NBA being under is to stand up a new team. If we fans are truly outraged,horrified and offended then we will go to the new team in droves.If we are not, if this is something that will blow over,then lets take the focus off Mr. Sterling and get back to watching and playing the fine product the NBA turns out.

This Has to Stop!!!
Today I was listening to a radio program on my local AM station and the topic bothered me so much I felt the need to rant about it here.
The subject of the program was charity.Right now even though the United States is seen as a bully and a villain, we are the first country folks look to in times of crisis. Whats that you say? You've had an earthquake? Here's the Seventh Fleet for you. Epidemic? Have some doctors and free money for you. Are you being invaded by a neighbor? Lets give you our most priceless resource, our soldier lives.But....
What happens in our own house when our own citizens hit hard times and our economy is having more ups and downs than the craziest roller coaster on Earth. Do we give the down and out free aid so they don't have to sleep on the street? Do we send the military in to build camps with central heat and a/c for the homeless families? Nope. That's just for nation building efforts abroad. Do we send millions of metric tons of food to the states to give to the hungry? Nope. That food goes to our frenemies and outright enemies.
Do we give brand new never been worn top of the line designer clothing to those who have none or insufficient clothing?
Nope.
That stuff goes to aid folks in Haiti or Japan.
If you are an American citizen and you have need, legitimate need, then while we are helping those outside the country you have to go beg at a church for your food for your family or go hat in hand to private people so you can pay for another week at a fleabag motel for your family. You may even find yourself on the exit ramp of a highway with a sign.
Why do we continue to sit complacently by while our brothers,sisters,friends and neighbors are struggling and yet pat ourselves on the back for sending our tax dollars out of our country to help those who in some cases wish us harm. In the past we have sent money or food or military aid to such luminaries as Iraq(during the Hussien years),Pakistan(they like us so much they closed the border to US contractors last month),China(70-30% trade imbalance with us.) These are the one who our enlightened leaders say deserve help. They don't need income guidelines or minimum residency requirements. They just have to live outside the US of A.
I implore anyone who views this blog: Please, find a person or family in need near you and help them. Give those who are hungry a gift card to your local grocery store. If you know of a family trapped in the hell of a motel existence, speak up at church and get an offering to help them with an apartment or house. You know someone who needs clothes? Don't make them go to a thrift store for worn out cast offs. Give them a gift card to Kmart or Walmart.
LETS FIX THE HOUSE BEFORE WE FIX THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!

As I sit here in my comfortable recliner on this muggy Saturday afternoon on Memorial Day weekend I am struck by the sense of danger I feel for our nation and at the same time the hope.As a nation we were birthed in fire and death but while at the time it was a cause for personal grief, it was also a time for celebration and great rejoicing across our new nation, The United States of America.
We were tested just 29 years later.Britain sought to reestablish her rule over her former colonies and the war of 1812 began.Americans young and old again were called into the cauldron of war and withstood the test.A poet named Francis Scott Key penned a little note called the Star Spangled Banner,written as he watched the Battle of Baltimore as a prisoner on a British man'o war.
A short lived republic again showed America the way when a group of Texans broke from Mexico and made an ill fated last stand at the Alamo.Former american congressman Davy Crockett,another man famous for his knife Jim Bowie and others gave their lives so that Texas may exist. General Sam Houston defeated the army of General Antonio Lopez De Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto which eventually paved the way for Texas to become a member of the Unites States.
The next chapter of our growth as a nation was also our darkest and most painful.Fathers fought sons,brothers fought brothers in the Civil War which was anything but.At no other time in our history would there be such horrific casualties of Americans.The disputes which led to the war were many and varied.Slavery is often cited as the main cause but it was just the straw that broke the camels back.Hundreds of thousands of brave,honorable men died in this catastrophic war.There were heroes on both sides fighting for causes that were noble all around.Though the union won the war and brought an end to the mass casualties occurring in battle the wounds would take a long time to heal.Some are still not quite gone.
As I sit back down from grabbing an ice cold drink I am reflecting on where our nation was at this point. Just out of a horrible cataclysm and struggling with putting herself back together.What were the emotions of our citizens?Possibly the northern citizens were smug and superior over their defeated southern cousins.those in the ravaged south possibly mired deep in personal and economic depression.It took a very long time for stability to return to our nation.
Manifest Destiny!!!!It was the buzzword and the rage sweeping the country.Native American Tribes were swept aside as settlers pushed into the west claiming the manifest destiny of all Americans.A short sharply fought war with Spain gave us the Phillipines and other former Spanish possessions.We were feeling our oats at this point and the nation settled into a period of relative peace and grew as a world power.We built a new navy and it was dubbed the Great White Fleet.Although still not quite up there with the other powers we were making our mark.President Woodrow Wilson was swept into office on the strength of his promise to keep us out of the war consuming Europe.
World War I was another example of just how willingly we as people march to the drums and guns.Europe was crisscrossed with nations who had treaties of mutual defense with one another and it was those treaties which plunged the continent into war. More than 9 million military and 6 million civilian deaths later the war ended and the world and a war weary United States entered into another era of peace.The Roaring Twenties.Fortunes were made and the nation grew again.we suffered through the years of the great depression and watched as Germany grew again as a threat to peace in the world.Japan was becoming a threat to our interests in the Pacific.President Roosevelt at first tried to keep America out of war but he saw Britain in danger of being ground under the boot heel of Germany.We lent our historical ally many needed weapons,ships and credit.
December 7,1941.A date that will live in infamy. These word were spoken after a sneak attack by the Empire of japan caught the American Navy by surprise on a sleepy sunday morning.More than 3000 sailors died and again the maelstrom of war swept us up.
We lost almost a half million of our fathers, brothers and sons.the world wide cost of the war was nearly 60 million dead both civilian and military.
We have had several smaller wars since then. Korea,Vietnam and the Persian Gulf area twice. Afghanistan is still going.
Over the long course of history of our still young nation we have lost millions of lives to war and despair.Yet those lives so freely given and so dearly missed have given us the chance to have and to appreciate what we are able to do.Your cookout on this wonderful weekend,the freedom to dispute what our leaders say,the freedom to vote them out if that is your choice, all these were bought and paid for with the blood of patriots.
So as you eat your burger and grab an ice cold drink this Memorial Day,please, take a moment to reflect soberly on this weekend and find a soldier in your home town.Thank him or her for their service.Tell them you will be there for them if they are ever called to the drums and the guns.
